A Caribbean Exclusive Resort on Antigua called St James Club just has to be a great place to take a vacation. The name itself sounds exclusive and infers luxury, and the reputation it has gathered over the last few years would probably support this feeling.
St James Club is very much in the top flight when you consider every Antigua All Inclusive resort, and it sits on a private 100 acre estate with super views and two white sand beaches.
Its situation is also enhanced by the fact that it is only five minutes away from English Harbour, Nelson’s Dockyard, and Shirley Heights, and the historical attractions these names imply.
As befits the name St James’s Club, there is a sociable club like atmosphere which draws guests back again and again, in this lush tropical playground, and there is glamour too, thanks to the numbers of visiting yachts.
For the active there are two white sand beaches, four swimming pools, which includes a family pool, and an adult only pool. There are a number of complimentary non motorised water sports including windsurfing and kayaking.
There are plenty of opportunities to play tennis with six tennis courts, four of which are floodlit, and for the fitness fanatic a fully equipped ‘Body Shop’ gymnasium. Golf is available but it is forty minutes away. For those who wish to be active but less frantically so can join in adventure walks.
St James Club is really devoted to its guests having a great time, and this could mean you don’t take exercise at all, but just relax with a good book, because you’ll have just as good a time doing nothing as someone will who has to do it all, and try everything, because it’s that sort of all inclusive resort.
The accommodation choices start at Club Rooms, with two double beds, and mostly a garden view, to premium Rooms overlooking the sea, to the newest Beachfront rooms which are beautifully laid out and equipped. Finally there are one bedroom Suites, and two bedroom Villas which even have a kitchen as they are located in the Club’s Village area..
Food and eating should play a large part in any Antigua Luxury Resort does not disappoint. The St James Club is especially good in this department, and compares very favourably with other Antigua All Inclusive Resorts. There are four restaurants for evening dining, either in the gardens, on the hillside, or right down by the waters edge.
You can go from the international buffets, and the superb a la carte menus of the Rainbow Garden which is St James Club’s main restaurant where you can have breakfast and lunch.
The Docksider is right on the edge of Mamora Bay, and is alfresco eating, only in the evenings, serving grilled favourites.
Piccolo Mondo is the hillside restaurant, open on selected evenings for dinner, where you will enjoy a fusion of Caribbean and Meditteranean Cuisine. If it is the more informal dining you require, then Coco’s Restaurant overlooking the Atlantic will undoubtedly be your choice.
There are more than enough casual daytime bars, and evening cocktail bars for the more sophisticated drinks. Indeed there is food and drink to suit everyone’s taste between the four restaurants and five bars.
For the family there is a Children’s Club for ages 2-12, which is great for parents as it gives them the freedom to enjoy what is a really nice resort, and the St James Antigua is certainly worth researching in depth if you are really looking for a Caribbean Exclusive Resort.

While searching for a good deal on travel arrangements and accommodations, there are several useful tips that smart travelers have learned through trial and error that keep more money in their pockets and less in the hands of hotels and other travel companies. By adopting some of these tricks, you can get the vacation you’ve always wanted for a fraction of the cost you’d pay without them.
The first piece of advice for getting a good deal on your vacation is to have flexible travel dates. The prices of airline tickets to the same destination can vary hugely depending on the days of the week you intend to fly. Likewise, hotel chains adopt the same practice by making even the most basic room price increase greatly on weekends and vacation holidays. By finding the best combination of flight and accommodation prices, you can save hundreds more than you would have saved by taking the standard long-weekend getaway.
Another great piece of advice to get your dream vacation for less is to travel during the off-season or even the very beginning or end of the tourist season in the destination you’re visiting. Because hotels and resorts are trying to build up business very early in the season, you can often get great deals on entire package stays. This can be true for the very end of the season as well, since the resorts may be trying to squeeze in every bit of possible business before the end of the busy season in their part of the world.
Another practice that costs many travelers a lot of money every year is not taking the time to shop around. Just as you would do your research before making a major purchase for yourself, you should explore all of the available travel options. Simply going to one or two websites and picking the best price may seem like an easy stress-free way to book a vacation, but getting a little more in-depth with your research can yield huge savings. Doing a search on one search engine isn’t sufficient for finding all the possibilities for travel that will offer huge savings. Join a frequent traveler’s forum where you can get advice from people who have experienced many of the ways to obtain great trips without a huge cost.
Knowing when to book your vacation is another trick that can boost the amount you’re able to save. Not only do airfares and hotel accommodations vary depending on what time of the week, month, or year that you want to travel, they also fluctuate depending on what time you book the trip and how far in advance. The general guideline to get the best deals on flights is to search on Wednesday mornings when competing airlines usually reach the lowest offered fares. Doing a little sleuthing on traveler’s forums can often give you additional information that proves to be equally helpful depending on where you’re planning to travel.
The final tip for potential travelers is to be flexible with your travel plans. Great deals and opportunities can often come at the spur of the moment. Embrace your inner-spontaneity and save some money in the process!
